摘要:Tourism destination sustainability relies heavily on tourists' pro-environmental behaviour. As the driving force of future tourism markets, Generation Z tourists are particularly susceptible to peer influence, yet the psychological mechanism through which peer incivility shapes their pro-environmental behaviour remains unclear. Grounded in Protection Motivation Theory, this study employs a questionnaire survey to establish and empirically test a chain mediation model, examining the serial mediating roles of environmental risk perception and environmental responsibility awareness. Findings reveal that peer incivility has a significant positive impact on Generation Z tourists' pro-environmental behaviour. Furthermore, environmental risk perception and environmental responsibility awareness form a significant chain mediating path. This study integrates Protection Motivation Theory and Value-Belief-Norm Theory, validates the key transmission chain of "environmental risk perception -> environmental responsibility awareness", and offers evidence-based implications for destination managers to promote pro-environmental conduct among young tourists.
