摘要：高等教育的家庭收益包括精神收益和经济收益,收益的增加可以改善社会福祉、消减贫困、促进社会和谐。通过调查发现,高等教育在提高社会地位等精神方面的"溢出"收益比较明显,而且越是社会地位低的家庭对高等教育的收益有着更强烈的欲望和需求。然而现实中,高等教育在家庭经济收益方面并不明显。在社会贫困差距迅速扩大的背景下,应转变大学的传统职能,通过加强大学生的素质教育、完善灵活的学分—选课制度、鼓励学生积极参与实践活动、提供毕业后的"回炉"教育等措施发挥大学在提高家庭收益,消除贫困和促进社会和谐发展等方面的职能。
Higher education can benefit a family both mentally and economically, which will advance the societal well-being, eliminate poverty and promote social harmony. This empirical investigation indicates that higher education has significant mental benefits like social status as demonstrated in families with higher demand and desire for the education. This research, thus, argues that, in the context of vast wealth gap, higher educational institutions should functionally facilitate quality education and perfect credit and course selecting mechanism, as well as internship work and continuing eduction to project the benefits of higher learning.
