摘要:The Yungang Grottoes are located in Datong of China, dating from the 4th century. They represent the early cave art and world famous cultural heritage artifact. In 2003, they were listed as one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. After more than one thousand years of exposure to natural weathering and anthropogenic influence factors, the sandstone suffered severe degradation and destruction. In order to better understand the degradation and to protect the Yungang Grottoes from further damage, the consolidation of sandstone is being studied. A successful procedure is the consolidation by the dispersion of nano-calcium hydroxide diluted in different alcohols. In this work, a newly developed consolidation process was analyzed with NMR-MOUSE in order to select the best consolidation condition, by measuring the pore-size distribution and water absorption of sandstone samples before and after consolidation. The optimum consolidation procedure employed used pure isopropanol as the solvent. ? 2016 Taylor & Francis Group, London.
