摘要:英语广泛阅读对于语言学习者的有效性研究始于20世纪80年代,并被作为一种有效的学习方法在全球得以推广。研究借鉴国内外研究经验,以英语基础薄弱的本科学生为研究对象,对其进行为期一个学期的实验,通过对前后测成绩进行分析发现两组受试在阅读、词汇和语法技能上产生显著差异。而且通过对学习者进行质性研究发现广泛阅读在很大程度上激发了学习者的学习积极性,增强其学习动机。
The researches into extensive reading as language teaching strategy, having been launched all through the world since 1980′s, have proved the effectiveness on the learners′ improved language capacity. The empirical study in this article is applied with the College students whose English level is below the average based on the college entrance examination results, as the subject for the purpose of finding out the effectiveness of the extensive reading activities adopted as the teaching strategy on the learners′ language capacity and the motivations in this regard. The result obtained through the analysis of SPSS 13.0 has echoed the predecessors′ findings.
