摘要：对于《孟子·滕文公上》篇"舍皆取诸其宫中而用之"一句中"舍"字的理解,向来存在争议。历代注家对"舍"字的不同训释均存在问题。句中"舍"字宾语的非典型性和"何不"连用造成的对整个句子逻辑语义关系的误判,是对"舍"字误解的主要原因。句中"舍"字的正确训释其实正是其在先秦最常见的用法,即为动词,表"放弃/舍弃"义。
There has always been a controversy about the understanding of the Chinese character“she”(舍)in the phrase“she jie qu zhu qi gong zhong er yong zhi”in Mencius Duke Wen of Teng(Part I).Thispaper points out the existing problems of the existing views.Meanwhile,it also points out that the mainreason for the misunderstanding are the erroneous judgement of syntactic logic semantic relation andatypical object of“she”.Based on a comprehensive investigation of the usage of the character“she”in thewhole book of Mencius and 15 other classics of the pre-Qin dynasty,and the context in which the sentenceappeared and Mencius’viewpoints expressed in the text,this paper holds that the Chinese character“she”inthis phrase should be interpreted as a verb meaning“abandon or give up”.
