摘要：德国语言学家和汉学家乔治·冯·德·甲柏连孜常被誉为现代语言类型学的奠基人,他的比较句法思想不仅为后世句法研究提供了有益启示,也使其汉语研究在学界独树一帜。本文主要围绕甲柏连孜早期的两篇重要论文《试论比较句法学》(1869)和《再论比较句法学》(1875),探讨其以下几个比较句法思想:强调句法比较的共时多语言基础、注重句法比较中词序的句法价值、寻求句法比较中的普遍心理法则。不可否认,甲柏连孜的比较句法思想带有一定的心理主义色彩,然而加以重温对于理解他在句法学史上的地位和作用,乃至寻找不同语言句法背后的普遍原则,仍具有重要的建设性意义。
German sinologist and linguist Georg von der Gabelentz is regarded as the father of modern linguistic typology.His pioneering views on comparative syntax contribute both to the current syntactic researches and the originality of his research into Chinese language.The present study mainly focuses on his two important early papers,i.e.“Ideas on Comparative Syntax”(1869)and“More on Comparative Syntax.Word and Sentence Order”(1875),based on which some of his thoughts on comparative syntax are discussed.These include taking full consideration of synchronic linguistic diversity,attaching great importance to the syntactic value of word order,and trying to propose a universal psychological rule in comparative syntax study.There is no denying that Gabelentz’s thoughts on comparative syntax have a certain psychological slant,but a review of his works still has great significance in understanding his position and role in the history of syntax as well as seeking out universal principles for the syntax of different languages.
