摘要：北京自金中都起就有中轴线之实,但一直没有中轴线之名,今日申遗之“北京中轴线”则肇始于700多年前的元大都。北京中轴线概念的提出是20世纪三四十年代以梁思成为代表的学者们发现中轴线之实,并“取实予名”不断发展的结果,具有重要意义。这使得北京城这条居中而处的南北向轴线摆脱了有实无名、隐而不显的状态,成为可辨识的文化事象。它明确了北京中轴线作为城市空间之轴的性质,使其继续发挥统领北京城市建设总体布局的重要作用;它使北京中轴线成为一个文化实体和文化整体,深化了人们对中华文明历久弥新、多元一体的理解和认识,并深刻影响着北京历史文化名城的整体保护工作。
There was the north-south line situated in the middle of the Middle Capital since Jin Dynasty,and“Beijing Central Axis”applying for world heritage as an item has formed since the Yuan Dynasty over 700 years ago.However,in a rather long period of time,the north-south line situated in the middle of Beijing did not have such a name as the“central axis”.In the 1930s and 1940s,based on the achievements of research on the axis conducted by scholars represented by Mr.Liang Sicheng,the concept of Beijing central axis was put forward,reflecting the philosophy of“giving worthy names to things according to their actual conditions”.It is by the philosophy that“giving worthy names to things according to their actual conditions”broke the central line away from the state of being nameless and invisible.It has become an independent and distinctive cultural phenomenon bearing its unique history,pattern,connotation,function and value.Putting forward the concept of Beijing central axis has great significance.Firstly,it has made it clear that it is the geographical axis of the layout of Beijing,and will continue in its role of being the principle of the overall planning of the future development of Beijing.Secondly,it has promoted it as an integration of cultural heritage.Thirdly,it helps promote understanding of the Chinese civilization in its lasting charms and unity of diversity.At last,it has profound impact on the overall preservation of Beijing as a famous historical and cultural city.
