摘要:Chronic exposure to ultraviolet radiation disrupts the antioxidant defense system of the body, triggers inflammatory responses in the skin, and ultimately leads to photoaging. Yak whey protein is characterized by outstanding nutritional value and exhibits potent antioxidant and anti-aging biological activities. However, its anti-photoaging effects at the cellular level have not yet been elucidated. Therefore, this study established a photoaging model of human skin fibroblasts (HSF) via UVA irradiation, with the aim of investigating the potential anti-photoaging effects of YWP and its related molecular mechanisms. The results demonstrated that YWP exhibited significant protective effects against UVA-induced photoaging in HSF cells, which were associated with reduced reactive oxygen species (ROS), inflammatory cytokines, and matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) via modulation of the MAPK/AP-1 pathway. Moreover, YWP promoted the production of hyaluronic acid, hyaluronic acid synthase 2, tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases-2 (TIMP-2), and extracellular matrix (ECM) components. Among all groups, YWP at a concentration of 1.6 mg/mL exhibited the optimal therapeutic effect. Collectively, the findings obtained in this research underscore the promising anti-photoaging properties of YWP, while also offering both theoretical support and experimental evidence to facilitate the in-depth development and utilization of functional products originating from yak milk.
