摘要：从科学技术的发展、我国高等工程教育改革的实践以及我国社会经济体制改革及社会发展入手，分析工程本科培养目标调整的背景，进而提出当前高等工程教育本科的主要任务是培养应用型高级工程技术人才。在对应用型高级工程技术人才的特征进行初步分析的基础上，提出：高等工程教育本科培养目标应根据科技发展和社会需求的变化进行重大调整。而高等工程本科教育应注重基础和综合，注重工程实践能力培养，拓宽专业口径，力戒培养目标的单一模式，以提高学生的适应性。
Through the analysis of the backgrounds for the adjustment of undergraduate educational objective,it put forward the view point—the main task of higher education of engineering is to train senior practical engineers and technicians so as to meet the needs of the development of science and technology and the reforms in higher education of engineering and the structural reforms in our society and economy.Furthermore,seeing form the angle of the characteristics of the senior practical engineers and technicians,they reach the engineering needs great adjustment at present,which is to fit in with the development of science and the changes of the requirements of the society as well.In order to improve the adaptability of the students,higher undergraduate education of engineering ought to lay its emphasis on the learning of basic and synthetic knowledge,pay special attention of the training of the students' practical abilities in engineering,develop their professional accommodation and avoid single—form in the course of education.
