摘要：D. H. Lawrence (1885-1930) is one of the most controversial figures in British literary history. He prophetically exposes the endangering spiritual alienation in company with ecological problems provoked by industrialization. His sharp critics on modern culture and civilization like a gleam of sunshine, lay ground work for Deep Ecology. This thesis takes Lady Chatterley's Lover. as a text sample to try to approach Lawrence's ecological philosophy; And by exploring Lawrence's spiritual ecology represented by his balanced relationship between man and Woman, the paper tries to fulfill the sub-purpose of justifying Lawrence of his phallic pride criticized by feminists. Now that China is undergoing the process of industrialization and is confronted with similar problems, she may gain some enlightenment from Lawrence's works during this inevitable process, because pen is mightier than any other weapon in criticizing social maladies.
